Vermiculite is mandatory for all shipments of liquids by air when secondary means of closure cannot be done. This Grade A4 extra coarse vermiculite is an excellent and economical solution for shipping samples.
Vermiculite acts as a cushioning agent for liquid containers to help absorb shock during transport. It may also be used as an absorbent whenever the potential for leakage exists.
IATA, UPS and FedEx require absorbent material for all hazardous liquids in glass bottles. Absorption ratio may vary for different liquids.
